Kosrae

Work on the submarine fiber optic cable to connect Kosrae with the rest of FSM is due to commence soon. This connection will provide ultra fast broadband cable to Kosrae for the first time. Plans are also underway to introduce fiber-to-the-home for most homes, schools, businesses and government offices in Kosrae. There is currently no timeframe for this phase of the development. EMC Cable is expected to be operational by late 2025. All contracts have been signed, and work is proceeding in Kosrae, Pohnpei, Nauru, Kiribati, and accommodations in Guam and the RMI.
